As the name implies I am a bit of a lazy knitter. The type of person who finishes a project and then takes forever to sew it up – I am not a big fan of sewing as I am just no good at it.
I do have lots and lots of design ideas and I would love to see some of them come to life in yarn and wool, but I am such a slow knitter that I am looking into other approaches. So over this next year I am going to explore the world (I’d go so far as to call it a sub-culture) of machine knitting. I hope that this will be come a record of my transition from hand to machine knitter and maybe even from hobbyist to semi-professional.
My next blog is going to be all about buying a machine and what I am looking for.
In the mean time I was reading an article by Nikki Van De Car (in a uk magazine called Twist) in which she mentions that her blog pushes her forward – she feels obliged to finish a project she has mentioned on it. In that spirit I am knitting Ice Cable Mittens in Rowan Colourspun at the moment – just past the hem on the first one.
It’s a funny one because I thought that I wouldn’t like the colour but now I’m knitting it up it’s really grown on me.
